IN2 is a hands-on research lab where scientists, engineers and experience designers work side-by-side to invent and incubate scientific insights, technological advances and product concepts that delight people and deliver strategic business impact.
We are looking for a small number of highly skilled engineers to help us create novel AI-based systems. Ideal candidates will have full-stack mobile, web and cloud service skills, strong interest in AI and pervasive computing technologies, and several years of experience developing working systems.
This is a full-time position based in our Mountain View, CA office.
Design, develop and test functional systems to explore, prove and demonstrate new AI-based concepts, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Perform technical investigations and development spikes to assess new technologies and resolve challenging problems, documenting what was done and what was learned.
Contribute ideas to advance the team’s work, and build constructively on ideas from other team members.
Contribute to devops, processes and tools that make the team’s work more efficient and resilient.
Participate actively in project planning, inceptions, demonstrations and retrospectives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant software stacks, platforms and emerging architecture and design patterns.
Technical foundation in software systems at the level of a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
5+ years of engineering experience with a history of interesting projects ranging from proof of concept to deployment at scale. When applying, please include links to examples of your work (code, products, prototypes etc).
Fluent with multiple high-level client and/or server side development stacks such as Android/Java, iOS, web, node, python and their related platforms.
Proficient in the design and use of REST and asynchronous APIs, including authentication and security.
Non-trivial exposure to AI and pervasive computing topics through previous work, formal education or informal side projects. Relevant examples might include computer vision, conversation agents, machine learning, reasoning, knowledge representation, NLP, context awareness, data science, sensor fusion and multi-device interaction.
Excellent problem solving skills, technical judgment and taste.
Native curiosity and passion for hands-on engineering is a must.
