Technical Program Manager

The Technical Program Manager for Samsung Research America will be a highly motivated individual who has a strong technical background in program management. The ideal candidate should be able to manage complex technology projects with aggressive schedules, deliver the projects on time. This includes figuring out innovative processes for efficiently planning, implementing, and delivering projects. The candidate possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and an ability to influence business and technical leaders to contribute to continuing success of Samsung. The candidate should be passionate about the projects and delivering quality products in timely manner.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Work with Samsung's global teams to ensure that technology integration projects are delivered as per the requirements with high quality and on time.
  • Use effective project/program management techniques to work closely with stakeholders to define scope, goals and deliverables in alignment with Samsung business goals
  • Define and track project deliverables by working closely with stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, issues and contingency plans
  • Correctly represent the urgency of issues and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Communicate status and dashboards on a regular basis with the stakeholders.
  • Define metrics and develop monitoring framework to measure all aspects of the project
  • Lead and drive quality management process, changes and improvements
  • Develop and manage program schedules, milestones and deliverables.
  • Ability to travel (10%+)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or higher
  • 5+ years’ professional experience in software engineering, program and project management
  • Demonstrated experience working with technology partners (of all sizes), to deliver projects involving multiple teams
  • Experience with Mobility products is strongly desired, especially the understanding of personal assistants, natural language processing and artificial intelligence
  • Knowledgeable in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel, etc.
  • Full understanding of how to manage end to end product lifecycle, from idea inception through development and launch
  • Demonstrated experience simultaneously working on multiple projects with multiple partners
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across organizational structures and multiple management levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to successfully facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, departments and levels and serve as a role model for teamwork
