Bixby is an intelligent personal assistant that is only available as a built-in application on Samsung flagship devices and wearables. This application uses a natural language user interface to perform tasks on these devices using voice, including but not limited to making phone calls, sending text messages, setting up meetings, opening apps, setting alarms and timers, getting directions, answering general questions, providing information about restaurants and other businesses, etc.

Position Summary:

The Technical Product Manager will report to the head of Bixby US. The Bixby US team works closely with Global teams in Korea and local teams in Mountain View across various internal organizations including business, engineering, architecture and linguists to define requirements and roadmap for Samsung Bixby. The Product Manager will work very closely with the Engineering team to realize Product vision.

Responsibilities Include:

The Technical Product Manager will participate in variety of formal and informal Product Management activities as dictated by the needs of the business and may include:

  • Contributing to the vision and strategy of our overall products and services
  • Acting as Product Owner to drive clarity of the product to meet commercial and strategic goals
  • Defining and articulating use cases/features/requirements for features that have been proposed
  • Ensuring that features/requirements meet certain entry criteria before assignment to a release
  • Soliciting and formalizing feedback from business teams and technology partners
  • Ensuring adherence to Product Management processes related to change control, documentation, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with exceptional time management skills
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently at all levels in the organization.

Experience Requirements:

  • College degree in SE, Computer Science, or similar with 6+ or more years of equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience writing product requirement documentation for mobile or software applications
  • Previous experience in end-to-end product lifecycle (concept through deployment and maintenance) is required
  • Prior development experience with Android will be a big plus.
  • Technical and business confidence to assert and/or defend positions regarding definition and priority of features 
  • Previous experience in consumer facing products and/or developer tools. Nice to have: experience related to artificial intelligence and voice services.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and technical writing and various levels of complexity and abstraction, from API document up to industry white paper
  • Able to determine own tasks related to high-level assignments
  • Able to travel internationally (<25%)
