Samsung Research America (SRA) is composed of 12 research labs based in Mountain View, CA developing next generation technologies spanning all of Samsung Electronics’ business areas including artificial intelligence, computer vision, security, B2B services, digital health and AR/VR. We are first and foremost a research institution, meaning our day-to-day focuses on advancing leading edge technologies, adaptive solutions and novel applications.
The Technology Strategy group is responsible for coordinating with all of the labs at SRA to drive new strategic projects and R&D initiatives for Samsung. Technology Strategists evaluate and make recommendations for new products and business opportunities for Samsung.
As part of the 2017 SRA Technology Strategy Team, you will own or have significant impact on various projects within SRA including:
Ideate, plan and execute a marquee technology event at SRA. In the past, these events have been industry summits, executive off-sites, hackathons and collaborative design sprints. These high-profile events will facilitate internal relationships and present external facing opportunities with key Samsung partners, startups and the venture community.
Help drive a specific strategy project with actionable recommendations which could include new products, new features, new business opportunities, new partnerships and/or internal operational improvements. These projects will be presented to SRA senior management and lab heads at the end of the program.
Qualifications and what we are looking for:
M.S. in CS/EE/Management, or MBA
Proven ability to build relationships, coordinate and make meaningful contributions in a cross-functional team environment
A thought leader who has strong analytical skills to provide unique, value-add insights
Technical understanding of the software ecosystem
Effective modeling and analysis skills
Ability to deliver effective presentations to senior management
Willingness to work hard and quickly adapt
