User Experience Prototyper
Location: Mountain View, CA
The Think Tank Team within Samsung Research America (Mountain View) brings new products and services to life through a blend of advanced product development and research. The team is highly multi-disciplinary: our backgrounds include electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, visual design, interaction design, industrial design, optics, physics, architecture, and more. We're also passionate about creating technologies that make real improvements in people's lives. We've established a strong track record of impact on Samsung's products; you can learn about some of our public projects at http://thinktankteam.info.
Exploring the potential of new products and services requires prototyping; often the best way to test out an idea is to build it and see if (and how well) it works. We've got talented people who can build amazing hardware, write robust software, and sketch out compelling user interfaces, but we need another user experience prototyper who can help pull those pieces together.
That's where you come in. You're passionate about building compelling user experiences. You think that new products and services need to be both useful and usable. You'd like to have an impact on the things that people use in their day-to-day lives. Maybe you've got experience implementing user interfaces for mobile devices, whether for applications or the operating system. Android experience would obviously be a significan plus, but you could also have experience building interfaces for other mobile platforms, other device types, or even the web. Or maybe your background is more from design, but you've had a lot of experience prototyping your ideas in tools like Sketch or Framer and are interested in going a little further. Whether you approach prototyping more from engineering or design, you're interested in actively shaping the direction of the user experience through collaboration with teammates who bring a variety of skills to the table.
If that sounds like you, let us know what you've built (sharing your portfolio as well as your resume would be very helpful!) and what you're interested in building next.
