Specialist / Manager, Technology Strategy
Samsung Research America (SRA) is composed of 15 research labs based in Mountain View, CA developing next generation technologies spanning all of Samsung Electronics’ business areas. The Technology Strategy group is responsible for coordinating with all of the labs at SRA to drive new strategic projects and R&D initiatives for Samsung.
Technology Strategists evaluate and make recommendations for new products and business opportunities for Samsung. They develop expertise in emerging technologies by attending top industry events and meeting with technology experts and leaders in Silicon Valley.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate between engineering and product teams to solve problems and identify opportunities for collaboration across business areas.
Work with SRA management, R&D labs, and business units teams (both domestic and from abroad) to initiate and align SRA projects with the strategic goals of Samsung Electronics.
Deliver effective presentations and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, effectively conveying technology and market opportunities to drive changes to our products and research roadmap.
· Clearly communicate technology attributes, benefits, and results to a wide range of internal and external audiences.
Engage with the Silicon Valley ecosystem by attending technology and business conferences, and meeting with founders, investors, and academics.
Represent Samsung’s R&D organization to external stakeholders, including partner companies, academia, and customers.
Skills / Attributes:
Experience in software or hardware project/product management.
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Engineering, Design, or related fields; MBA a plus.
· Excellent presentation, modeling, and communication skills.
Strong ability to build relationships, coordinate, and make meaningful contributions in a cross-functional environment.
Ability to multi-task in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
